Company
A new company built on industrial experience
SORTPLAST is a new company specialising in the advanced sorting of shredded plastics, driven by professionals with over 25 years of experience in the plastics recycling industry.
That experience extends beyond any single stage of the process. The professionals behind SORTPLAST have been involved in the design, construction, commissioning and operation of different industrial recycling plants, working from the receipt of mixed plastic waste through to recycled materials ready to re-enter production processes.
Over these years, we have worked directly with separation, shredding, washing, purification, extrusion and deodorisation processes, gaining first-hand knowledge of how each stage affects the quality, homogeneity and possible applications of recycled material.
This experience has given us a comprehensive understanding of recycling: what happens to a material before it reaches a sorting line, what the next process requires, and the characteristics a recycled fraction needs to achieve to find new applications and higher-value outlets.
Part of this track record has involved producing recycled materials for packaging and consumer products, where factors such as purity, colour, processing behaviour and material odour can be critical.
SORTPLAST builds on this industrial knowledge with a clear decision: to specialise in the sorting and separation of shredded plastics.
Rather than attempting to cover the entire recycling chain, we focus our activity on one of the stages that can have the greatest influence on the material’s subsequent destination: converting mixed streams into more homogeneous fractions by colour, polymer or combined processes.

Why SORTPLAST was created
The quality and usefulness of recycled material depend, among other factors, on the ability to separate its different fractions appropriately.
SORTPLAST was created to focus specifically on this stage: sorting and separating shredded plastic materials using advanced detection and sorting technologies.
Our model enables recyclers and other companies in the industry to use specialist sorting capacity without having to make that investment in-house.
